Hi Mira, just wanted to give you a heads up on the new AkzoNobel Metaflex SP I050 pretreatment (where do they
get these names!). We've been testing it and we can really reduce our aircraft painting process times.
Hi Alex, it sounds great. I can think of a few customers who will be interested in Metaflex straight away. Sounds
like it's good.
PS What do you reckon to this one ... what does an aircraft hangar become without aircraft inside?

Subject: Have you heard about Metaflex?

Bangkok gets FOD detection system
X-Sight Systems has deployed its FODetect
automated foreign object debris detection system at
Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
The system deployment process at Bangkok's
Suvarnabhumi International Airport's (BKK) two
runways lasted five months and was handed over after
the system successfully passed a Site Acceptance
Tests according to the FAA regulation for FOD detection
FODetect has also been tested by the FAA at Boston's
Logan International airport. FODetect was found to
meet or exceed the highest level of performance in
every parameter required by FAA regulation.
Nutt Homasavin, vice president of aviation safety at
Airports of Thailand noted: "Safety and security have

Avio and Snecma in LEAP deal
Engine manufacturers Avio of Italy and France's
Snecma have signed a deal that will see Avio work
on the new CFM LEAP aircraft engine family. Avio will
be responsible for the design and production of key
elements of the low-pressure turbine, stator stages,
disc and casing.
Compared to Avio's current involvement in the CFM56
engine family, it has increased its involvement with
Snecma threefold, generating global revenues up to 9
billion over the life of the LEAP program, at list prices.
The engine will power the Airbus 320neo, Boeing
737MAX and COMAC C919. LEAP is expected to enter
commercial service in 2016.
Francesco Caio, CEO of Avio, said: "Avio's participation
in the LEAP programme is a natural development from
our collaboration in the CFM56 engine which, from
1985 to the present day, has established itself as a
bestseller for passenger aircraft. LEAP will be one of
the major engines of the future. Avio will provide its
knowledge in design, development and production
of components and aeronautical systems, making a
considerable contribution to our company's growth."
